My Journey Into Hypnotherapy: A Path to Healing and Self-Discovery
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a natural curiosity about people—how we think, why we act the way we do, and what drives us in our relationships. My formal journey into psychology and fascination with the human mind began over 15 years ago, when I found myself eager to understand the dynamics of human relationships and what makes them thrive. Reading M. Scott Peck’s The Road Less Traveled was a turning point—it opened my eyes to the inner workings of the human mind and the heart. His blend of psychology and spiritual wisdom inspired me to explore the complexities of personal growth and relationships.
This newfound interest led me to immerse myself in the study of psychology. I devoured books, studied psychology journals, connected with research students, and followed renowned psychologists. While my professional path led me to a career in IT, my passion for understanding the human mind never waned. I became a keen observer of people, sensing unspoken emotions and subconscious behaviors that often go unnoticed.
At the same time, I embarked on a profound spiritual journey, beginning with the teachings of Sufi mysticism and the poetry of Rumi. This curiosity led me to explore various spiritual traditions, including the works of Eckhart Tolle, the Upanishads and Vedanta, Buddhist mindfulness, and non-duality philosophies. These teachings deepened my understanding of the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit, and became a guiding force in my life—helping me balance intellectual curiosity with a more profound spiritual connection.
A Period of Profound Transformation
Two years ago, my life took a dramatic turn when I moved to the U.S. after getting married. What I expected to be exciting new beginnings turned into one of the most challenging periods of my life. Uprooted from my stable career and financial independence, planted into a new country without my own support circle, I found myself struggling with a sense of isolation in addition to grappling with the challenges of being in a new relationship.
It was during this period of profound crisis that I reached a breaking point. Desperate for healing, I happened to stumble upon hypnotherapy. Initially, I didn’t think much of it as my ideas of hypnosis were formed by stage hypnosis and the media. As I continued reading more about it and doing sessions myself I came to realize its therapeutic power and it turned into a practice that deeply resonated with both my psychological and spiritual interests. I soon realized that hypnotherapy wasn’t just another tool for self-improvement; it was a transformative experience that allowed me to access parts of myself that had long been buried.
Through hypnotherapy, I uncovered deep-rooted beliefs and emotional wounds. I learned how to confront my pain, process it, and ultimately release it. Over time, I began to rebuild my life with greater clarity, self-love, and purpose. I finally found a sense of peace far greater than what I had experienced earlier. My heart is now filled with love, and I feel a profound sense of harmony with everything and everyone around me. It’s as though I’ve become love itself—no longer searching for fulfillment outside of myself, but finding wholeness within.
The experience was so profound that I felt called to help others navigate their own paths to healing. This led me to formally train and become certified as a hypnotherapist. Each session with clients further confirmed the incredible power of the subconscious mind.
